The A.W. Perkins Hearth Country Firewood Moisture Meter will change the way you look at firewood. Every heating enthusiast knows that wood should be dried to between 15% and 20% moisture before burning. In the past, the high cost of moisture meters has made it difficult for the homeowner to add this tool to their wood burning toolkit. This tool changed that trend.
The meter has 4 sharp prongs that when pressed into the split face of a piece of wood, will measure the moisture level, provided it is between 3% and 40%. This covers the desired range for such a device.
