Material: Campania International’s glazed terra cotta planters are handcrafted from natural clay and fired at temperatures between 990 and 1000 degrees Celsius for excellent frost resistance and durability. Care: Winter freeze-thaw cycles can cause water inside to expand and crack the planter. The best practice is to store them in a dry location, away from the elements. To prevent clogs in the drain holes, cover them with a mesh screen. Fill the bottom with non-porous drainage material, then add a well-draining soil mix. Finally, top with decorative mulch or pine bark, reaching the upper rim to discourage water pooling on the surface.
