The patented Pennsylvania Firebacks Cast Iron Fireback Saf-T-Boots can provide a safe and easy installation of your fireback in your hearth.The Saf-T-Boot’s ingenious step design allows the fireback to be held leaning back slightly, standing upright, or leaning forward at a variety of angles to accommodate your hearth. The versatility of the boot allows it to be used in conjunction with any cast iron grate, wrought iron grate, andirons, or gas log system.

Firebacks are shipped with a water base black paint to prevent rust build up during transit.To give a brighter finish to the fireback and to protect the casting from rust after use with a fire, an application of water base graphite stove polish is recommended.Applied with a toothbrush or rag, this paste, when dry, can be polished with a wire brush or rag giving the fireback an attractive silverfish sheen. The graduated steps of the boots measure 1.5 inch, 2 inch, 2.5 inch, and 3 inch.Note: Only the Small Eagle Fireback and Field of Stars Fireback fit the lowest steps.
