You can use the tool as an ash rake to remove charcoal ash from the bottom of the unit through the venting door. Simply open the bottom door and rake used ash out of the bottom of the chamber without the need to remove or disassemble any part of the grill to clean it.
The Primo Ash Tool Kit can be used to stir the lump charcoal, which is greatly beneficial to the process of getting your bed of lump charcoal started and up to temperature correctly. In oval models, this tool can help to move charcoal between chambers.
