Cast stone is durable but requires care during winter freeze-thaw cycles, which can damage moisture-retaining statues. It is best to bring it inside, but if the statue is too large, cover it with burlap and wrap it in dark plastic to protect it. When placing the cast stone statue, the ground should be a permeable surface, like gravel, pavers, or concrete; placing it on soil, mulch, or grass may cause damage. Cleaning is simple; use only water, gentle soap, and a soft sponge or cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners, and never use a pressure washer.
